The 1st conference in July 1998 was an enormous success (see pictures).

What is SIHI? SIHI is the Southern Institute for Health Informatics - an informal grouping of organisations who are working in the field of health informatics in the south of England. Our "region" spans the south coast running roughly from Poole in Dorset to Hastings in East Sussex. The consortium is led by the Centre for Healthcare Modelling and Informatics at the University of Portsmouth. Our group currently includes universities, NHS trusts and health authorities, and many companies, large and small. "Membership" is currently a loose arrangement involving being on our relevant mailing lists and attending the annual conference. The co-ordinator is Dr Jim Briggs, University of Portsmouth.
